Nuzlocke Challege - Pokemon White - Day 4

Many new members join, but some have fallen.

Castelia City

Forgot to fight the trainers in the Battle Company for an Exp. Share.

Here lies PK Rockin (Roggenrola), always Rockin. During the final battle in the Battle Company, his Trubbish scored a Critical hit Sludge. STAB + Critical and the fact that Sludge is a Special move did PK Rockin in.

PK Rockin made the second and third gym a breeze. She will not be forgotten.

RIP PK Rockin (Level 11 - 22)

Route 4

On leaving Castelia City had another battle with Bianca, then on Route 4 had one with Cheren.

Desert Resort

Found a Maractus (Level 20 Female) in the sand. Caught it and called her "Gigaplant". I already have Smugleaf, so Maractus probably won't be used.

Proceeded to beat all the trainers in the area.

Relic Castle

Found a Yamask (Level 19 Female) in the Castle. Named her "Brutality". A decent tank, and a Ghost type, she will continue where PK Rockin left off.

But just as I found a replacement, another was lost.

One of the Psychics in Relic Castle had a Sigilyph. As part Flying, I thought Blitzkrieg could take it out.

I was wrong.

All it took was one Psybeam. Sigilyph is a beast.

RIP Blitzkrieg (Level 8 - 23).

I took the Plume fossil and left.

Nimbasa City

Fought some trainers, fought N after a Ferris Wheel ride, participated in a Pokemon musical. All that jazz.

Route 5

Caught a Liepard (Level 22 Male), named him "Nyan Cat", then beat up the trainers.

Route 16

Caught a Solosis (Level 19 Female), named her "E. coli", then beat up the trainers.

Time for some backtracking.

Nacrene City

Headed to the gym to revive the Plume fossil. Received an Archen (Level 25, Male). Named him "Reborn" to both symbolize his rebirth from a fossil and his role on the team: A fast sweeper (Blitzkrieg) and a Rock type to take normal hits (PK Rockin).

PS: Nacrene City is an area that I had not caught a Pokemon in yet. Therefore, reviving the fossil still abides to the Nuzlocke Run rules. Although I would be exempt from reviving any other fossils.

Our new team is ready.

Route 3

Took back Hi-Beaver from the Daycare, need him for HM's. Dropped off Gigaplant and E. coli in the Daycare. If more fall on the journey (which will most likely happen as the difficulty of the game is only escalating at this point) then I will have reserves up to par.

Nimbasa City

Sunglasses was the star of this gym, although half the Pokemon were Emolga (part Flying, so my Ground moves were useless). The gym leader was not a huge problem.

Had another battle with Cheren, and once again not a problem.

Route 5

Met "The Champion", who has some crazy hair.

Driftveil Drawbridge

No wild Pokemon here...or so I thought.

Ran into a Ducklett (Level 22, Female). Caught her and called her "Crackers". A Water and Flying type is the perfect HM slave. Now I can keep Scald on Pour Vous instead of replacing it with Surf, and I don't have to teach Reborn Fly.

Driftveil City

Can't battle the gym leader until I find Team Plasma grunts. Explored the city and did everything I could. Had my first Triple Battle. As if Double battles weren't bad enough in a Nuzlocke run, Triple battles are just a nightmare. That middle Pokemon can get hit by 3 attacks, and that means a high chance of death.

Route 6

Found a Karrablast (Level 22 Male). Caught and named him "Wrench". Since he needs to be traded to evolve and be useful, he'll spend the rest of his days in the box.

As expected, can't advance any further until beating the gym.

Cold Storage

Caught a Timburr (Level 25, Male) and named him "Hard Wood". Finally a Fighting type. But I probably won't use him except to get a free Star Piece every day. Sad I didn't catch a Vanillite though.

Went inside the giant freezer and found Team Plasma.

Driftveil City

This gym leader is no joke. I was lucky to take out Excadrill without any casualties. Pour Vous was the main star, but Smugleaf helped take care of the Palpitoads. I was considering to evolve Pour Vous since it would have made the battle much easier, but I'll wait for now.

Had another battle with Bianca; she's still a pushover due to the type disadvantages.

Team:

Servine / Smugleaf (Level 30)
Panpour / Pour Vous (Level 31)
Whirlipede / Rolo (Level 27)
Krokorok / Sunglasses (Level 31)
Yamask / Brutality (Level 27)
Archen / Reborn (Level 27)

Nuzlocke Challege - Pokemon White - Day 3

Nacrene City

The second gym was easier than expected. Hi-Beaver's Detect stopped their Retaliate, and PK Rockin made the battle go by fast.

Team Plasma up to no good again. Time to chase them down.

Route 3

Left Hi-Beaver in the Daycare, as he'll be replaced when I catch a new Pokemon.

Pinwheel Forest

I went inside to test my luck, and found and caught a Venipede (Level 15 Male). Named him Rolo. Went back outside and beat up all the trainers. Went inside and pursued Plasma to get the skull back.

Castelia City

Bought 99 Lemonades. Then fought all the trainers I could.

Route 4

Blocked off so no progress until beating the gym leader. Found a Sandile (Level 15 Female). Named her Sunglasses. Taught her Attract due to a lack of a move pool. So far has been proven very useful. Replaced Shiba Taro with Sunglasses. Shiba Taro is still a Lillipup, since it loses the Pick Up ability when evolving.

Castelia City

Went to the gym, and found out I had to deal with more Team Plasma. So I beat up their army of Patrats again. Gym leader will be tomorrow.

Team:

Servine / Smugleaf (Level 21)
Panpour / Pour Vous (Level 20)
Blitzle / Blitzkrieg (Level 19)
Roggenrola / PK Rockin (Level 20)
Venipede / Rolo (Level 19)
Sandile / Sunglasses (Level 20)

スターバックスの$2グランデ

So if you buy a drink in the morning at Starbucks, you can exchange the receipt you get for any Grande drink for $2 (tax not included). Not as good as the Happy Hour half price Fraps, but still a nice deal.

Nuzlocke Challege - Pokemon White - Day 2

Route 2

Caught a Lillipup (Level 7 Male), named him "Shiba Taro".

Ambushed by Bianca on the way to Straiton City, beat her as always.

Straiton City

Went to the Trainers' School to find the Gym Leader. Fought with Cheren for experience. Team is currently too not strong enough for the Gym battle, so went to grind some more.

Dreamyard

Fought some trainers, talked to some guy who gave me a Panpour (Level 10 Male), which I named "Pour Vous".  I have no idea why.

Straiton City

Went to the Gym and fought Chili. His Lillipup picked up an Oran berry during the battle, which made it harder to defeat. However, Pour Vous made the latter half of the battle much easier. Received the Trio Badge and TM83 Work Up.

After winning, Fennel gave me HM01 Cut and asked me to get some Dream Mist

Dreamyard

Taught Hi-Beaver cut and dealt with Team Plasma grunts.

Straiton City

Received the C-Gear from Fennel and the Pal Pad from Amanita. The old man blocking Route 3 finally let me through.

Route 3

Fought with the daycare children for more experience. Cheren comes and requests a battle, which I won. Then Bianca comes and explains Team Plasma took one of the children's Pokemon.

Finally some grass. Found a Blitzle (Level 8 Male), but Smugleaf did a critical hit on it. Oh how smug you are indeed.

However, he was left with 1 HP and as a result is now part of the team. Named him "Blitzkrieg" for obvious reasons. The team currently is all male; it's going to be hell if I have to fight an attract user.

Wellspring Cave

Speak of the devil. Found a Roggenrola (Level 11 Female). Was hoping for a Drilbur, but you take what you can get. Plus it's a Rock type, which makes it very useful the next Gym. The only downside to her is that she can only be fully evolved from trading. Named her "PK Rockin", get it?

Beat up the Plasma grunts and got the stolen Pokemon back. Left PK Rockin in the Daycare while I beat up the rest of the trainers on the route.

Will need much more grinding before the second Gym, even with PK Rockin's help.

Nuzlocke Challege - Pokemon White - Day 1

It's been 4 months since Pokemon Black/White came out, and I've yet to play either one. As of late I've been bored of the games, so I never really picked up on one. But now's a good time, since it's the summer and I have nothing better to do.

The two core rules of the Nuzlocke Challenge are:
  1. If a Pokemon faints, you have to release it (AKA they're "dead").
  2. You have to catch the first Pokemon you encounter in an area.

As well as the core rules, I will also incorporate the following:
    1. All Pokemon will be nicknamed.
    2. No trading.
    3. If the first Pokemon encountered is a duplicate, you catch the next non-duplicate.
These blog posts will be a record of where I am currently in the game. It is also a reference for me so that there's no accidental captures.

    Day 1:

I picked Snivy (Male, of course) for my starter Pokemon, since Snivy is probably on the same grounds as Chikorita (E.g. difficulty in story mode). I want the extra bit of challenge.

I gave him the nickname "Smugleaf", because I always wanted to.

    Route 1:

The first Pokemon I encountered was Patrat (Level 4, female). I caught it with 1 Pokeball, and named her "Hi-Beaver".

    Accumula Town:

No Pokemon in the town to capture (Obviously). Battled N and won.

    Pokemon in party:
    - Snivy (Level 8)
    - Patrat (Level 5)
